Against Digital Art History

In November 2015 I was invited to an interdisciplinary conference at the Franklin Humanities Institute at Duke University to talk about the methodological issues affecting my field, i.e. contemporary art history. I gave this paper, 'Against Digital Art History', which is now online here. #fhiFUTURES

Futureproofing

I was interviewed about the future of art for BBC Radio 4's Futureproofing (broadcast 18 January 2017, repeated on 21 January). The programme as a whole seems a bit lost (this is radio: why spend so long in that dreadful installation in Singapore?) and there are better episodes (e.g. the one on Intimacy), but you can hear me chip in at around 23 mins.

Japanese translation of Artificial Hells

The Japanese translation of Artificial Hells is now out! Thanks to translator Toshikatsu Omori for all his diligent questions. Not sure why they put Parreno on the cover (I wasn't consulted).

Radical Museology in Korean!

I haven't seen it in person yet, but here's an image of the cover that Dan Perjovschi found on Facebook. Red and shiny.

Fischli and Weiss review

Review of Fischli and Weiss at the Guggenheim in the April 2016 issue of Artforum. I love their work, but it totally eludes verbal capture.
